Last week brought very little in the way of blogging and very much in the way of real life. Hence, two weeks of 52 Weeks of Brotherhood photos this week. Enjoy!
52 Weeks of Brotherhood, Week 26
My baby brother became a dad (what?) and the boys got another (boy!) cousin. The surreal quality of watching my father introduce my sons to my nephew — my nephew brought into this world by my baby brother — made my head swirl. Just a little bit over a year after becoming cousins for the first time, the boys seem to be old pros now. Now another boy has joined our family, these two brothers are excited.
So am I.

52 Weeks of Brotherhood, Week 27
I struggled with photos this week (just like blogging) due to a broken down car and other life-goings-on. You would assume that I’d snap a super cute picture of the boys together in their 4th of July shirts (like this). You’d be wrong. The only picture I have of the boys — together — isn’t even focused on their adorable, happy faces in their super cute matching shirts. No, it’s focused on the sparkler in the ground. One kid holds his nose while the other kid laughs. They’re the background, not the foreground. It’s not a technically great picture… but I love it.
We didn’t make it to the fireworks in our city this year due to rain and little boys who spent too much energy riding bikes and scooters, playing ball, chasing the dog, eating steak. Instead, we lit sparklers and tanks and giggled up a storm in our own front yard while the neighbor lady sat on her porch, clapping and cheering. This photo, while not the best photo in this series, reminds me of what we did on the 4th of July in 2013. I think that makes it the perfect picture for this week.
