52 Weeks of Brotherhood
This is hard.
Last week, I was all, “I wasn’t very intentional with the camera, but I’ll do better next week.”
And then! And then I left the memory card in the computer. For one whole week. And the door open for the memory card on my camera. Meaning that never the two shall meet. I didn’t pick up that camera once. Not once. In seven days. While I said that this project was 100% about getting back to my camera and documenting our lives, I am going to have to accept that some weeks are harder than others and sometimes documenting with the iPhone is just going to have to make the cut.
This week, the boys enjoyed a killer birthday party thrown by an awesome dad who likely didn’t consult Pinterest at all but still had all of the best stuff of birthdays. I bet he didn’t even think to himself, “Gee, I sure hope those other dads don’t think I’m trying to out do them with my Pinterest style birthday party.” I think he just wanted to throw a righteous birthday party for his kid. My kids appreciated his efforts. I appreciated his efforts, because I had three hours of little-to-no parenting on a Saturday. The boys had pizza and cake and ice cream and candy and bouncy houses and boat races and bean bag tosses and whistles and prizes and balloons. Everyone was happy. I would like to go to another one of his birthday parties again because, dang, I had fun.
Perhaps this week will be the week I get more serious about the camera. Goodness.
